Boys & Girls Club of Carson

The Boys & Girls Club of Carson (BGCC) improves the lives of over 8,000 youths a year through the work of passionate volunteers, but none of their story was reflected in their difficult-to-update website. Even worse, BGCC’s outdated website lacked of credibility with potential corporate donors.

Working with a pro bono team, I redesigned their website to be visually appealing, professional, and tug at the heartstrings of donors and volunteers.

Initial Design Process

From a heavier focus on photography to more action oriented calls-to-action, we brainstormed design features and functionalities that would make it easier for BGCC to get the funding that they needed. We planned site development around using WordPress to make website maintenance easy for volunteers.

Design Iterations

Based on our project goals and BGCC’s existing branding, I created two initial designs for review. After a few rounds of revisions, the final design was approved. Their new site design features bright photography, prominent testimonials, and attention-getting call-to-action buttons.

Success Story

After just a month of going live with their new website, BGCC was able to double their fundraising revenue from individuals and recruit 5 skill based volunteers to work with their teens. Visit their live site.
